Welcome David Parmet to Marcomblog

I always enjoy welcoming new thoughts and ideas to our small family at Marcomblog, so - please say hello to David Parmet.  He has some great experiences and ideas to share.
David is, by his own account, “living in Westchester County” and a “NY (New York) PR guy” who blogs on “public relations, blogging and marketing from the home front.”

David blogs at Marketing Begins at Home and is widely respected in marketing and public relations. His blog is a mix of personal observations, family stories, media analsysi / critiques and thoughts on PR/Marcom. Visit his about page at Marketing Begins at Home.

David’s past experiences range from the intense and hectic New York City political campaigns to work at several major agencies and helping the English Cut launch as one of the most unique and successful PR/Marketing blog efforts - ever. He worked with Hugh McLeod to launch this tailor’s blogging campaign. Read their story here and more here at David’s blog. I’m not blowing smoke by saying ‘ever’, either. A blog that makes Bespoke Savile Row tailors the talk of the internet is impressive. They have also teamed up to bring wine marketing online in blogs and made a big splash - in all the right ways.

Among his many accomplishments, wine and beautiful english suits are just the beginning. David is also the #1 Google result for the search phrase - “people at the last supper” - of all things. No, he is not ‘that’ old. But, he does know PR, marketing and blogging. So, we are grateful that he has stepped up to the Marcomblog plate.

Thank you, David. You will help our students greatly.

David joins our other 10 Marcomblog contributors (see the sidebar) in what, I believe, is the only online PR / Marcom mentoring project. Well, at least that has contributors from North America and Europe. We respect and appreciate all eleven of our contributors. Thank you! You are all naturals - in helping others learn.

Students, please say hello to David with your comments.

David rocks all the other PR bloggers out there. The best. Hands down.

Welcome David! We’re so happy that you’re joining us at Marcom Blog! (Most of us are getting pretty tired of this Robert guy…) But, in all seriousness, your comments and insight will be greatly appreciated here. It’s a great educational experience to have the opportunity to hear from professionals from all areas of the PR field. Best of luck with your upcoming engagement at the New Communications Forum. Please share with us some of the topics discussed while you’re there! I’m very interested to see how the strategies that we are discussing in class are viewed at this conference. Again, welcome and jump right in! It’s not that often we are acquainted with people who beat out Jesus in Google searches!

Hey David! Welcome to Marcom Blog. It is so nice and encouraging to see successful Public Relations professionals take time out of their busy schedules to help young up-and-comers. In conjunction with Courtney’s above comment…your comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Just out of curiousity (because I am still new to this blogging concept), how did you find out about Marcom Blog and Robert’s blog? As funny as it may sound, I am still fascinated at how interconnected the PR Internet world has become!

What a welcome.. I’m honored to be included in such a group of PR luminaries.

Monica - in answer to your question - the PR blogosphere, like the PR industry itself, is a very small world. And sooner or later you’ll bump into just about everyone you know at least twice.

Looking forward to the conversation.

Welcome David!
We here at Marcomblog look forward to hearing all of your PR expertise! If Robert thinks you are an expert, I believe you indeed are. Pretty impressive that you are one of the top google searches for “people at the last supper!” I found it very interesting that you have worked on political campaigns in New York City. If you know anything about how they run campaigns in the southeast, let us know how different your experiences are in working with campaigns in such a large city! I am sure the channels you use are similar, but I am also confident that they are probably used in a completely different way to reach the dozens of ethnicities present in NYC. Happy to have you here.

David,
Welcome to our site. We’re excited about what you will be adding in our daily conversations. We hope that you’ll bring an air of fresh air to this blog with new ideas and new ways of thinking. It’s good to have people from all over. One the best things about this blog, in my opinion, is that all of the contributors are from all over the world. It provides a level of experience that is unmatched by any other PR program in the world. I look forward to your thoughts, opinions and expertise.

Hi David,

I am glad to have another contributor to learn from. It is always great to get some more insight to the real practice of PR. Fortunately for you, we have been blogging for over a month now and I would say there are major improvements- this is the up-swing of the learning curve. I hope you will give us some advice from your experience. So welcome and I look forward to hearing from you!

Welcome to Marcom, and thanks for taking the time to help us develop the PR and blogging skills we will need to start successful careers. From Robert’s post about your many accomplishments I am sure that you will have great ideas and insight for us. I look forward to reading some of your posts.

Helloooooo David!!! and welcome to Auburn’s little/global PR world. I am excited to have you join the list of remarkable practitioners. We have already learned a lot from the other contributors and I am positive we will learn a lot from you. We are truly blessed for having people such as yourself help us become the best PR people we can be. No pressure, but we are counting on you to help us become what you are, successful. So please give us all the keys to success! I need all the help I can get.

Hi David and welcome to Marcom Blog! It will be great to have another expert share their experiences and encouragement about blogging. I appreciate you taking the time out of what seems to be a very interesting life and career to help us students fully the grasp the pros of blogging. I am interested in hearing about the political campaigns you have worked on. I have often considered a career in the political world. I find it rather fascinating. Good luck with you upcoming New Communications Forum in March. It will be great to see what you have to share about the benefits of blogging and the creation of new technologies to help us up and coming bloggers. I look forward to your future blogs!

Hello David and welcome to our blog! It is exciting to have another voice of experience in our PR community. We have already learned so much from our other contributers and I look forward to hearing your ideas about the PR world. It is especially exciting since Robert spoke so highly of you, if he said it then it must be true. It is always nice to hear fresh ideas and opinions from the people who know, since we are just learning. We appreciate you taking the time to help us. I look forward to hearing from you!

Hello David! I wanted to join in with the big welcome from all of my fellow Auburn students and other Marcom Bloggers! I am thrilled to have yet another perspective on the world of public relations at my disposal. I was glad to hear that you have done work in New York. After I graduate, I headed there or Chicago to try and make my way. It’s quite a risky and bold move, I know, but it’s what I want to do and I have confidence that I will succeed! But if you have any advice for me or any other bloggers that are thinking about doing the same thing it would be greatly appreciated! Welcome to Marcom Blog! I look forward to your thoughts!

Welcome, David! We are always excited to have someone new and exciting to blog with! As most of us are new to the blogging world, we are eagerly learning a lot every day! I am very interested to learn more about your history in New York politics! I’m planning on interning in D.C. and can’t wait to see how/if politics are different in New York. A lot of the PR majors from Auburn venture on to law school, so I’m sure we are all interested to learn a lot from you!
I just wanted to join in and give you a big WAR EAGLE!! I look forward to talking with you more in the future!

Welcome to our PR blogging world. I am excited to hear more about your experiences with public relations and marketing out there in the “big city.” I find it interesting and exciting that we are able to have ten contributors from all over the world to guide us in our public relations endeavors. I am one of “those” public relations students who have an avid interest in politics and am considering law school after graduation, so I can’t wait to learn more about your experiences with campaigning and the marketing and public relations aspects of reaching out to the voters. I am also interested to learn your views about blogging in the political spectrum and how this new addition to the public relations world will change the political process.

Welcome David! It not only is great to have another person to blog with, but it also helps me an up and coming PR practitioner to learn more about the field of PR! It really is convenient for me actually because I recently received an interview from a company in New York City for a possible internship! I went to New York this past summer and absolutely fell in love with the place! I will be finished with classes this semester and will intern and graduate this summer and am just as nervous as I am excited. Therefore, if you have any advice on internships there, or anywhere for that matter, and living there, since I know how expensive it is, please let me know! I seriously need all the advice I can get, especially since I think actually living in New York is more like a dream than a reality.

Also, being that I am a rookie still in the blogging world it really motivates me to continue with my blog when other PR professionals get involved. I’m still trying to figure out the whole blogging aspect and the fact that others from all around the world want to help seriously leads me to want to write more. It’s amazing to me that PR professionals can take the time out of their hectic schedules to give us students’ advice. I don’t think you realize how much that means to us and how much we appreciate any amount of advice we receive. Thanks again and I look forward to “blogging” with you in the future!

Welcome David! It is not totally appropriate for me to welcome you to Marcom since you have a successful career and a history of blogging preceding you. I have only been blogging for a couple of months but it is extremely helpful to look at the contributors to Marcom and to read their blogs. I went to the Real World PR in Atlanta last week. It was supposed to show us students how PR works in the real world and I think that these blogs are also very helpful. Topics and issues that are very relevant to PR today are discussed and I think it is extremely helpful. So welcome and I hope to learn a lot from you!

Hi and welcome David!! Thank you for joining in on our PR blogging adventure here at Marcom. It is always nice to have another expert on things we, as students, are not. Which right now is probably nothing related to PR. I am exciting to read some of your insight about different topics and learn from it as well. This is a great opportunity that Robert has made possible for us and I am glad you agreed to help us out.
I was reading your blog at Marketing Begins at Home and learned a small bit of information that I had not known before. I like your take on issues because I can relate to it myself. I am interested in finding out how your trip went with the wife and how the service ended up at that gorgeous hotel. Monica brought up an excellent point in that post about the word of mouth. That can travel faster than anything and can be damaging to your company. If you have a bad experience, everyone at Marcom will hear about it and then starts the cycle. Once again, thank you for contributing to Marcom and I am excited to read what you have to say and learn from it.

Hi David! Welcome! I’m excited to know that someone so successful will be blogging at a site where I visit often. Ironically, I only moments ago came across and enjoyed your post “Bad PR is the Least of Their Problems” at Marketing Begins at Home. I am a beginner blogger so I will often be viewing your blogs. Viewing blogs written by professionals provides be with a sence of guidance I need for improving my own blogs. So on that note, I would also like to thank you for joining Marcomblog and I am definitely looking forward to reading more of your work.

Welcome David! It is a pleasure to have yet another esteemed PR practitioner taking the time out of their hectic lives to help mentor us students here at Auburn. Your addition to Marcom Blog is another chance for us to see another person’s perspective of the mystery also known as the real world that we are about to enter. I am a beginner blogger and have just recently seen the true benefits in blogging, and having your guidance and mentoring will be greatly appreciated. I know I will be visiting your site in the future and taking much of your advice with me as I leave Auburn for bigger and better things. We can only learn from our experiences communicating with you.

This is a great opportunity for all of us to hear from people who are already “leading the pack” in our future profession. As students, we need all the guidance we can get and again thank you and welcome on board!

Hi! I just also wanted to say welcome, and thank you for joining! Obviously, from all of the other comments, we are really excited you’re here and can’t wait for any advice or thought-provoking ideas you can share with us. We’re honored and excited!

Wade Cothran

I’m really not sure if anyone will ever see this, but I wanted to send out a warm Auburn welcome to you David.

Thanks so much for joining the Marcom family and we look forward to reading your posts on this site as well as your own.

I have visited your site several times in the past and I must say it is quite impressive.

Robert tells us your hail from New York and I think that is absolutely fantastic. I too have spent some time in the Apple and had a glorious time. Its great to know that we can communicate with you professionals and learn from you through this tool.

Thanks again for joining.
