MarcomBlog is a collaborative effort between sixteen terrific public relations and marketing professionals and students in Auburn University’s Department of Communication and Journalism.
Our purpose: To actively involve students in conversations with practitioners from around the world. Blogs offer a unique opportunity for students to converse with professionals they never would have met before. Why not harness the power of CMS to bring people together. Think of this as part mentoring exercise by our contributors and part incubator for future PR/Marcom professionals.

Hmm? I’m betting they’ve got Koolaid on Candy Mountain.
And holy cow, look at the stats on this video from Oct. 26, 2006 til today:

I thought the owner’s comment, simoncouillard1, was funny:
Charlie the unicorn goes to Candy Mountain.
Credited to filmwcow.com. No, I can’t send this video out to you guys, it’s too big. Just go fetch quicktime pro and rip it from the website. Or some other program. Stop sending me messages lest I shun you.

Of course after starting Robert’s class this semester, I am quickly becoming a YouTube addict. I find myself spending my spare time looking for amsuing videos. This is one of them and I love the video and thanks for sharing and keeping up with Marcom for us!

This was like a really bad acid trip. I kept watching…for that really great ending. And I was losing brain cells each second. And what do unicorns need kidneys for, anyway? I’m missing something here….surely I’m missing something. Maybe what’s missing is the acid…that makes sense. That’s the only thing that makes sense!

My roommate showed me this video a week and a half ago. It’s kind of funny to see it turn up here.
I guess I’m the only one who’s seriously creeped out by the coaxing unicorns.

This video was completely insane!! haha. Thanks for sharing it with us. I definitely kept waiting for that great climax or ending and it never happened. I can only imagine what “substances” they have on Candy Mountain. This video goes to verify that you can find ANYTHING on YouTube. Not only can you find anything from a NASCAR race clip to unicorns on Candy Mountain, but you can also find journalists’ video resumes and statements from CEOs such as David Neeleman from JetBlue.
What do you think will keep evolving from such as YouTube and how do you feel about it Dee? I feel that it encourages a lot of involvement on the web that is linked sometimes to social media; however, I feel the majority of this involvement is not positive or in tune with what the user intends.
Let me know how you feel and what you think about YouTube. Thanks for the information! Hope you have a great day!

I usually watch YouTube to watch the bands I listen to or am intersted in. This video was like nothing I have seen before. I reminded me of a very weird mix between Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the wizard of oz.
I didnt realize until this class what wide variety of videos are on You Tube. I now know that people attach YouTube videos a lot in the social media and blogging. Thank you for showing us the adventures on Candy Mountain and I look foward to many weird YouTube videos.

Thank you for sharing this insane YouTube video. I can’t believe that something like that is even out there, and even scarier… that someone would take all the time and effort to make such a video like that (and probably take pride in it).
What I would like to know, is how did you even find that video, Dee? I’m assuming you didn’t put “cracked out animation horses” in the search engine, haha.
YouTube has some crazy stuff on it, but sadly theres even more crazy people that have the access to it.
After seeing that video, it makes me think of how Robert reminded us in class that anyone has the access and power to change Wikipedia and sadly, people believe it to be historically true.

I guess eating too much candy leads to bad livers?! The colored unicorns were pretty creepy. This definitely ranks among the most random videos I’ve seen. That’s what I love about YouTube- it can be as trippy as the creator envisions. Shun the non-believer . . .

Charlie the Unicorn on his way to Candy Mountain is the most hilarious video in the world! I don’t think I will ever get tired of it.EVER. I love the voices of the pink and blue unicorns or horses, whatever they are. But the end with the whole kidney thing, its kinda random. But I still love it !

This is a very interesting movie with unbelievable percentages. I don’t know what to think about it because I am not the best at hands on, new technology. It is very true and unbelievable how fast technology is improving and the myspace stastic was very interesting.
We are a part of a very significant time period in our country in regards to technology where we are watching changes happen and learning as we go. I am glad these changes are taking place while I am in college so that I can learn new technological advances from my courses. Hopefully I can keep up with these advancements because I know they are very important in the P.R. world.
