This project has been a lot of work so far and there's much more to be done before it's finished. However, the work has been surprisingly not that bad. I'm really excited about what's coming out, and I know I'll use this a lot in the months(and probably years) after my graduation. It's also good to know that we are getting an advantage over other pr majors who aren't doing this kind of work in their classes. Thanks Robert.

At this point in the semester we are approaching completion of our final projects the online digital resume. Some students are about ready to pull their hair out while others are already done and lending a helping hand. What I will say is this we all know the end result will lead to nothing but success. Hard work never goes unnoticed and creating the digital resumes was no easy task.

I said I was going to stay positive throughout this whole experience and not break the one rule we have and not CRY. Thus far I haven't and don't plan on it. My digital resume may not be the fanciest or the most creative, but it will show that I have acquired the knowledge and I know what I'm doing. Thanks Robert.

My first reaction to the idea of creating a digital portfolio and resume was one of shear fright. Now that I've been immersed in this new culture of bitmaps, wikis and web hosting, it's becoming clearer exactly why we have been chosen to learn social media. Public Relations will always have its press releases, but in the future, more things such as video blogs and social media releases will be surfacing.

I'm so thankful for my education, but until I heard from a former student about how important it is to be ahead of the curve, I didn't appreciate learning things like Photoshop and InDesign. I hope that the things that I learn will show in my digital portfolio and resume.

I think the most exciting part about Style and Design is the digital resume. It will be very useful when it comes to finding an internship/job. I also like the idea of having my own website. I'm basically marketing myself to anyone who wants to look.

A digital resume not only shows all of your acheivements and activities, but also shows that you can actually make a website. Technology is such a huge part of the world we live and our industry-I think companies/future employers like to see that you have the capabilities to build websites, etc.

So far I have had fun building my digital resume (but I sure do have a long way to go). I'm excited to see what my final website will look like at the end of the semester. I know it will be a lot of work, but I really do think it will pay off in the future.

This class we are in, Style and Design, is crucial to understanding the world we live in today. The times are certaintly changing, with the Web being the biggest factor in that change. Yes, there is a lot of new information to obtain, but it is so exciting to be a part of the generation that are some of the first to utilize these new techniques. What perfect timing to still be in school, learning all these new things, so that I won't be in the dark when I start working.

To be honest, it has taken me a while to realize the benefits in social media. I felt like I had been told that social media is the way to go, but I never really understood why (I promise this is nothing against Robert...it was just hard for me to adjust to it and, in turn, know why it's crucial).

The reason i now believe it's so important is not only because it's a great way to network. But also, social media is effective in including an audience to see what their needs are, and then adjusting your message to appeal to them. It's also one of the most efficient ways to get news out quickly.

All this to say that this class is so benefical in preparing me for all this. I now see the point in all the video postings, blogging, interacting with other bloggers and designing digital portfolios and resumes. I am still not sold on the whole Twitter thing, but maybe that will be the next thing to grow on me!

I am currently taking Style and Design this semster at Auburn University. This class challenges me everyday. I am inspired to not only become comfortable and acquainted with the various programs and projects but excell in them. I know that my hard work in this class will pay off and benefit me in the future.

PR is headed towards a very technological based future, and as a future PR practioner understanding and acquiring these skills will be beneficial wherever I go. Beyond this it is really nice to walk away from this class with something tangible to show future employers.

Auburn University has taken its PR program to the next level and allowed us to learn all the aspects written and social media of PR. I feel that it gives us an advantage over alot of other students. I have taken away more from this class than any other in my college career.

Learning to make an online resume and portfolio can be exciting. However, it can also be frustrating. The frustration aspect develops in many ways such as placing financial strain on a student to purchase the needed material to create these projects, and learning the steps to complete the projects without a lot of practice.

I understand that the professor is available to help you during a time of need, but when you begin to explore creating these projects on you own, you may experience the feeling of being like a "fish out of water."

I also believe that if cameras are provided for classes such as photojournalism, then the items needed for the style and design class should be invested in as well.

Don't get me wrong; I love learning new techniques. However, the class that helps teach the technique should be an option and not a force.

I agree with Josh's thought that online work will play a vital role in future jobs. Just by looking through some of these former Style and Design students' digital portfolios, I can already see how the skills learned in this class will help me in my career. I feel like most classes teach us important skills needed to be good pr practitioners, but it is sometimes hard to see how these skills will benefit us in the long run. I am eager to fine tune my social media skills and have a better understanding of the various software programs we will be using throughout the semester.

Despite my nerves, I'm really looking forward to what I'll be learning in style and design. I'm not the most tech savvy person around, but I think that in the upcoming years online work will play an increasing role in the jobs that practitinoners perform. In the age of the internet, it's exciting to know that I'm learning about things like social media which are on the cutting edge of our field. I really appreciate the opportunity to get a leg up on our future competition in the job market.
